Who We Are
Green Floating Marine Structures (GFMS) is an engineering firm based in the middle of Norway's technology capital, Trondheim. With an emphasis on innovation through creativity and collaboration, our talented team works hard to deliver high-quality solutions for a sustainable future.
GFMS is a company founded by Dr. Jørgen Ranum Krokstad. The objective of the company is to develop a floating wind turbine structure with a single line mooring. The WindBarge concept is originating from the founder’s experience with single point mooring systems in Oil&Gas-industry, practical experience from offshore wind developments projects in Statkraft and former Statoil, theoretical evaluations, and collaboration with SINTEF and NTNU. At present, significant effort has been put into creating a solid consortium of strategic partners with a good knowledge base and sufficient momentum - to guarantee the required development of the WindBarge. The primary objective in the near future is to carry out detailed design and model testing with the final goal of preparing for full scale prototyping. In addition, the project will address the need for specific acceptance criteria for each technical discipline to prepare for the realization of the prototype.

Jørgen Ranum Krokstad
General manager
Jørgen Ranum Krokstad has a PhD and has been appointed adjunct professor at NTNU. He has many years of experience with marine structures from SINTEF, DNV and offshore wind installations within Statkraft including the Dudgeon
and Doggerbank wind farms, Offshore Wind Accelerator and Norconsult (Southern North Sea II). His theoretical skills and practical experience bring a high value to the company.
Magne Tveit Bolstad
Structural lead engineer
Magne Tveit Bolstad has a MSc from NTNU in Energy and Process Engineering, with specialization within hydropower energy. He is also a certified sheet metal worker with many years' experience from industrial production of pumping systems for the marine industry.
Ole Gunnar Dahlhaug
Chairman of the board
Ole Gunnar Dahlhaug is a mechanical engineer working as a Professor at NTNU. He has his specialization in wind- and hydro-turbines, and experience from 5 start-up companies.
Fredrik Storflor Moen
Board member
Fredrik Storflor Moen has MSc from NTNU in Industrial Economics and Technology Management. He has an extensive experience as a business manager, a broad network and is working actively as a board member.
Elin Ulstad Stokland
Board member
Elin Ulstad Stokland has a MSc from NTNU in Marine Technology and key experience from BOA which support services to the marine, offshore, and offshore wind industry.
Onno F. R. Musch
Advisor
Onno Musch holds a MSc in Coastal and Marine Engineering and Management. He has considerable experience with strategic processes and management for a broad range of industry segments. Onno has advised PE funds from all over the world with regards to strategy, due diligence and market screening. He contributes as an external strategic advisor to the GFMS team.
